Jettison Magazine asked me to design a cover for their sixth issue (summer 2010). I thought this was a chance to push the boundaries and try something a little more abstract in a more finished piece than my color and shape inspiration. So… I did that.
The kind folks over at ReadyMade Magazine asked me to put together an illustration for their new column called Why It’s Worth it. This specific article was about the re-release of Richard Schultz’s 1966 leisure collection. The above illustration ran in the June/July 2010 issue.
Super8 is a bad ass Milan based magazine. They asked me to do a cover design for them as part for their Collabor8 series. The theme was “Learn”. Above is the outcome.

After Michael Freimuth left the fine city of Chicago for NYC, I picked up his roll as Art Director of Proximity Magazine. Of course I couldn’t have done it without the help of contributing designers Margot Harrington and Rod Hunting. For a copy of the newest issue go to any Barnes and Noble across the U.S. or ask your local bookstore if they carry it. If they don’t, tell them to get it!
Lumpen magazine is a sociopolitical magazine that has been a fixture in Chicago’s alternative press community since it began publishing in the early 1990’s. Above is the cover I did for their 112th issue. I’m honored to be part of a magazine that has been such a big part of the Chicago literary scene for almost 20 years.

A little change of pace for me on this one but I couldn’t be happier with the result. Anorak is the coolest kids magazine on earth. And I was lucky enough to be asked to do three spreads for their newest issue on the theme of Words. I’ve wanted to do work for a childrens publication for a while and I am very grateful that the Anorak team asked me to contribute. Hooray!
