A New Portfolio Website

I have a new portfolio website live. Check out www.chadkouri.com. Soon, my Long Live Analog address will act as a site to dump my work documentation and news on what I’m up to. For now, enjoy the new site!

Newcity’s Breakout Artists of 2011

It’s quite an honor to be recognized as one of Chicagos up-and-coming image makers by Newcity magazine along side some of my long time favorites like Plural and Edie Fake as well as some other crazy talented people that have recently been added to my local Chicago favorites list. Check out the full article over at Newcity. Pictured above is the work I contributed to Newcity’s NEXT art fair booth. It’s the largest piece I have ever done measuring in at three-by-five feet! The smaller pieces are studies which were displayed alongside the finished piece. Also check out an interview Readymade magazine did with me for their reoccurring HDYGTFAJ column.

CUDO ABCu Fundraiser

Here is a piece I did showcasing the letter lowercase “N” for the CUDO ABCu fundraiser. They asked a bunch of people to submit a letter of their choosing until all were spoken for including upper and lowercase letters, numbers and symbols. That’s a lot of characters! Check out the full flickr set of pieces.

The Art Dossier Solo Exhibition

My first virtual solo show took place with The Art Dossier at the beginning of 2011. Above is a few select pieces from the exhibition. Their model is interesting in which they showcase artwork just like a brick and mortar space (1-3 month exhibitions focusing on one artist) only difference is that it’s online and not in a physical space. Also, check out the interview that went along with it.

Dead of the Dead Mural at Chicago Urban Arts Society

Chicago Urban Arts Society invited Nick Adam, Scott Reinhard and I to do a mural for their 2010 Day of the Dead show. Peter Kepha got down on it as well with his rainbow of flourishes. Good stuff. Good times.
